# ModbusBB > ModbusBB is Windows software (Windows 10/11, 64-bit) by Max Energic Apps for testing, troubleshooting and simulating Modbus devices. Version 2.0.2 is a Modbus master/client for Modbus TCP, UDP, RTU-over-TCP, RTU and ASCII. It supports multiple simultaneous connections, each with multiple poll tabs, and saves them in workspaces (.mbws). It has a raw TX/RX hex traffic monitor, 11 data types (16/32/64-bit integers, Float32/Float64, String) in four byte orders with scaling and units, Device Tools (FC08, FC17, FC22, FC23, FC43/14, raw requests), a 9-map device register library, and a slave simulator (TCP/UDP/RTU/ASCII, generators, exception injection). There is also a trend chart, watchdog alerts with actions, CSV logging, and a scriptable CLI with JSON/CSV output and exit codes. Pricing: $10 one-time lifetime license (up to 3 devices, free updates; 1.x keys keep working in 2.0); free 30-day trial with 15-minute sessions. Current version: 2.0.0. The site also hosts vendor-neutral Modbus guides (addressing, function codes, TCP vs RTU, RS-485 wiring, timeouts, exception codes, byte order, simulation) and free in-browser Modbus tools. Install 2.0 over the old version (don't uninstall first). ModbusBB detects the stored key and re-activates it on that PC (internet needed once). Old connection profiles (.json/.mbprofile) and .mbcfg files open as workspaces. ## Optional - [Terms of Service](https://modbus.maxenergic.com/terms.html): Trial and lifetime license terms, restrictions and warranty disclaimer - [Privacy Policy](https://modbus.maxenergic.com/privacy.html): What is and is not collected; Modbus device data is never sent to the vendor - [Support](mailto:support@maxenergic.com): Email support for trial and licensed users
