About Max Energic Apps
The publisher of ModbusBB
Who we are
ModbusBB is made and sold by Max Energic Apps (also written Maxenergic), a software publisher of tools for engineers. Our main website is maxenergic.com; this site, modbus.maxenergic.com, is dedicated to ModbusBB.
The engineer behind ModbusBB
Mohammad Ba’ra — Electrical Engineer, SCADA/SAS Specialist and ModbusBB Developer
Mohammad Ba’ra is an electrical engineer specializing in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Substation Automation Systems (SAS), and industrial communications. He is the CEO of Blue Breeze Renewable Energy Systems LLC and develops ModbusBB under Max Energic Apps.
His work spans renewable-energy plants, substations, and industrial automation, including system integration, commissioning, technical specification reviews, and Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT). His technical experience includes Modbus communications, IEC 61850, plant power controllers, metering systems, protection and control, and operational technology networks.
Built around practical engineering work
ModbusBB brings that engineering background into a Windows tool for testing, troubleshooting, and simulating Modbus devices. It supports the everyday tasks involved in connecting equipment: checking register addresses, interpreting data types and byte order, investigating communication faults, and recording results.
The aim is straightforward: give engineers and technicians clear visibility into device communications and practical tools for commissioning and integration.
What ModbusBB is
ModbusBB is a Windows 10/11 application for testing and troubleshooting Modbus devices. It includes:
- a Modbus master/client for Modbus TCP, Modbus UDP, RTU-over-TCP, Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII, with several simultaneous connections, a raw TX/RX traffic monitor and device tools;
- a Modbus slave simulator for testing masters, HMIs, gateways and SCADA systems without hardware;
- a command-line tool (ModbusBB.CLI) for scripts and automated tests.
